You are not your thoughts
Mar 19, 2024 if you are in a state of fear or anxiety in relation to your environment, your eyes will become fixed, you’ll stop hearing stuff, you’ll come out of your body, and now you are in a state of freeze.
Your mind, the meaning channel will start to try to make sense:
“You’re like this because you’re actually quite useless at what you’re doing and you’re not doing it right. And see those people over there? They’re actually laughing at you” or whatever’s going on.
The meaning channel will try and make sense of what’s happening in the body.
Whereas if we just simply move the eyes and we ask the mind to focus on something that actually feels okay, all of a sudden, now my body is going:
“oh, okay, that’s actually not true. I’m going to give “benign neglect” (Organic Intelligence®) to that because that was just my own bit of fragility that was occurring there because I don’t really know these people. or know this film set.
And I’m a little bit uncomfortable because there’s Hugh Jackman and I’m about to shoot a scene with him, and I might be shit, but if I realise all I have to do is focus on Hugh Jackman and breathe with him, then he will raise the bar for me. And I just need to be in that moment and we’ll both be brilliant”
That’s the added bonus of having someone who’s really experienced in front of you, because all you have to do is be with them, receive them, and they’ll bring you right up to their level.
