I am truly in awe of the humble practice of being an actor, watching these actors sacrifice the knowing life for a life of unknowing and the unknown is always inspiring and hopeful. These actors came together to build relationships with each other which is in and of itself a vulnerable process so they could then create deeply original and complex characters. Each ensemble of actors offered a quality of attention that invited an acceptance of the light of their difference. The compassion and empathy they showed one another is a hopeful practice for humanity in a world where our collective humanity will be and is our greatest empowerment for slow, steady consistent change. Storytelling is a very powerful medium through which we can reframe, reimagine, restore, rejuvenate our relationship to ourselves and each other. Storytelling is an expression of the art of being human and our humanity experiences its greatest expression through our collective gathering in story, our own story, that of each other and the one we create together. It is consistent daily practice that grows trust in the bones, cells, the muscles, the heart, the soul of your being. This consistent daily practice is unseen, unheard as it is shy and humble. This nature of practice, The Actor’s Practice, The Art of Being Human.
